Yes you are right Panchu. But We Tamilians (Indians) are known for arguments. Some body has to stop the growing "in-equalities" among the society. We need balanced development not skewed.

Brutal Death - Indian Way
Forest Guard (Penultimate rank in the Indian Forest Service) is brutally murdered by "sandal wood" smugglers on 25/06/2007.
Place: Forest near Udumali, Tamil Nadu
Reason: He did his Duty
The beauty of the Indian Forest System:
Person who is in the job "protection" is hardly "equipped" to do that job. Who ever "equipped" will look after "forest" job at least 200 Kilo Meter away from the forest.
END RESULT: "LIFE IS SO CHEAP IN INDIA (in India only ????)

Social problems and their reporting in Local Tamil Dailies
What NEED to be DONE ?????
1. SEE the world (issues) through "their" eyes
2. Really "see" the world (issues) through the eyes of the people in the story
(Thanks: Vin Ray in The Hindu www.thehindu.co.in )
Latest on BIOFUEL TECHNOLOGY
COMPARED to ethanol from sugarcane, virtually any sugar (glucose, fructose etc. from ANY SOURCE - mainly lignocellulosic waste) CAN BE CONVERTED into DI METHYL FURAN, which seems to be "promising" "renewable" fuel
Further details on this work being done in University of Wisconsin go to www.bbcnews.com

Importance of Water in Local Agriculture
16% of world population lives in India. But they have only 4% fresh global water resource.
So what??
How will we do our agriculture??
1. Increase the irrigation use efficiency to the level of Isreal.
2. Decrease the area under paddy and sugarcane or Alternatively develop best water use technology for these two crops.
3. Increase the infrastructure development for irrigation channel.
(In this day tamil daily Dinamalar (20/06/2007) there is report of breakage of irrigation channel of Parambikular Aliyar Project (PAP). It warrants immediate attention. And no body is interested in rectifying the defect. Check www.dinamalar.com

Today on the Caste in Tamil Nadu Especialy in Tirunelveli
In Dinamani Tamil Daily paper (19/06/2007) very interesting piece of information is highlighted.
On 18th June 2007, Mr. M. Karunanithi Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu participated a meeting arranged by Mr. Thol. Thiruma a cheif of Caste based party. There were about 20,000 participants almost all of them are "Dalits". And this meeting is held in Tirunelveli.
The point we need to note is "Tirunelveli" is known for caste based conflicts and consequent "death" by violent means. "Miraculously" no incidence of violence is reported in this meeting and everything went as per "book". GREAT PERFORMANCE.
Portal you can use: on tamil books : www.viruba.com
Consultancy on cost basis: Please contact: business@tnau.ac.in

Education in Tamil Nadu 2006
Now on the Education for the lowest class of the people in Tamil Nadu.
A Tamil Daily reported on 13th June 2006, the following:
The pass percentage in the 10th Standard (equivalent to Matric of Indian Central Govt. Schools) results of the Scheduled Caste school increased from 70 to 77 per cent. And for the 12th Std. it went up to 65 from 51 per cent.
A phenominal performance considering "high value" private schools that admit people of all caste and with considerable "educational" background.
